Our Story

August 2017 - A Chance Encounter Our love story began at the peak of online dating apps, not knowing that we lived in the same neighborhood and commuted to work on the same train every morning. September 27, 2017 - A Cheesy First Date Bob very thoughtfully planned our first date. We started with drinks at the charming Tria Washington Square West, followed by a delightful dinner at Talula's Garden (knowing that Beth's favorite 'food group' was cheese). October 13, 2017 - Campfire of Commitment Bob invited Beth to join him and his friends for a camping trip near Jim Thorpe, PA. Around a crackling campfire, surrounded by the beauty of nature, we made the decision to take our relationship to the next level. November 2018 - Starting a New Chapter Together We took the plunge and moved into a cozy studio in Manayunk, marking the beginning of our journey living together. 2019 - 2020 - Adventures and Romantic Dinners The following years were filled with exciting adventures with friends and romantic dinner dates. We enjoyed dressing up and taking the train from Manayunk into the city, creating lasting memories along the way. March 2020 - A New Beginning in Fishtown In March 2020, amidst the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we realized our dream of moving to Fishtown, a neighborhood we had longed to live in. November 2020 - Luna Joins Our Lives Our desire to have a dog led to an unexpected adventure. Beth made a spontaneous call to an Amish Farmer near Lancaster, who happened to have Husky/Pomeranian/Samoyed puppies. The next morning, we received a call confirming that there was one girl puppy left. With a smile, Bob said, "I guess we're getting a dog today." Nearly three years later, we can't imagine life without Luna. April 21, 2023 - A Proposal Among Wildflowers Bob surprised Beth by suggesting we take a random Friday off from work to spend a beautiful day in New Hope. He mentioned that we could finally visit Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, a place Beth had wanted to see for years. Little did Beth know that this day would be the one where Bob proposed with Grandma Joan Hayden's ring, amidst the blooming wildflowers, creating a moment we will cherish forever. We look forward to sharing the next chapter of our love story with all of you at our wedding!
